About Poppop Korean
K-culture has seen a dramatic uptrend in the last decade, ranging from K-pop, films, drama and now K-beauty. There is a palpable interest in people wanting to learn more about Korean culture and language around the globe. Despite the huge demand, there is a real shortage in terms of quality teaching provision.
This is the backdrop of how I launched Poppop Korean, a fun, practical, friendly, immersive and high calibre learning programme. The courses are born out of combination of my academic background (I have a PhD in Urban Planning), practical knowledge I gained through a teaching qualification from Korean National Institute for Lifelong Education in 'Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language', which is the only course of its kind ran and verified by the Korean government. Lastly, from my passion for music.
I have a professional background in...guess what... in Popular Music for my undergrad, I was trained as a popular music vocalist at a renowned Korean university with some of the top K-pop professors and artists.
K-pop Class [ONLINE]
K-pop Class is learning Korean through singing the latest K-pop songs (learning a language has never been this exciting!!). 3 pre-selected songs will be covered in 30 minutes webinar-style sessions, in the course of 3 weeks. We will delve into the lyrics and fanchants with proper pronunciation and digest some basic vocabulary & grasp the trendy language (which is not always best translated through AI caption). There will be some time set aside at the end of each session for Q&A style interaction where you can suggest what songs to be included in the future sessions.
POPPOP CLASS [OFFLINE]
These classes are in Altrincham, South of Manchester. The class size is kept small (maximum of 6), for an informal and engaging experience with ample opportunity for feedback. There is also room for your own input of interest so that the course is both personal and relevant to you.
